William Ellis Tegeler

William Ellis Tegeler, age 93, of Troy passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Koester Pavilion.  He was born November 14, 1924 in Piqua, Ohio to William Adam and Helen Marie (Cecil) Tegeler.  William was married to Nellie (Jordan), for over 70 years, whom survives.

William is survived by his wife: Nellie; sons: William E. (Mary Ann) Tegeler of Covington; Daniel Brent Tegeler of Raeford, NC and Steven Wayne Tegeler of Smithfield, NC; grandchildren: SherylAnn (Jason) Jackson, Helen Tegeler, William E Tegeler, Steven Tegeler, Sabrina (Gary) Sisco and Michele (Martin) Fuentes; great grandchildren: Noah and Grace Jackson, Kelsey and Jackson Sisco, Garrett and Levi Tegeler; sister Patricia Free and niece Connie Nillson, both of Jerseyville, IL.

William graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1942.  William was a Marine veteran, spending time overseas and was discharged in 1946.  He retired from Hobart Brothers as a manager of production and inventory control.  

William enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with bowling, golf, and trap shooting.  He was a Life member of the Marine Corp League, a member of the Troy Fish and Game, Piqua Masonic Lodge, Valley of Dayton, Scottish Right, Chapter of the Shrine Club, and the American Legion of Tipp City.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Funeral Services will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Baird Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Forest Hill, Piqua, Ohio.  Military honors will be performed at graveside.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Christ, 120 S.
