Wanda S. Chaney

WANDA S. CHANEY, age 85, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit.  She was born in Pt. Pleasant, WVA on April 12, 1936, to the late Kimpton and Beatrice (King) Plantz.

Wanda is survived by her children: Rick D. Chaney of Ft. Loramie and Tammy L. Hensley of Troy; sisters: Patricia Clutter of Piqua, Phyllis Chaney of Troy, Sheila Ault of Arkansas and Sharon Smith of Troy; grandchildren: Stacy Chaney-Martin of Houston, OH, Kelly Chaney-Debrosse of Piqua and Jeri Hensley of Troy; great grandchildren: Brittan Martin, Caleb Martin, Keringten Martin, Kiaya Debrosse and Olivia Debrosse; and great great grandchildren: Colton Hoelscher, Hudson Hoelscher and Lydia Hoelscher.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry D. Chaney, on January 24, 2017; two sisters: Karen Plantz and Jane Stapleton; and one brother: Kenny Plantz.

Wanda was a graduate of Miami East High School and attended Edison State College.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy and American Business Women’s Association.  She was also a National Honors Society Member for life.  Wanda was owner/operator of Chaney & Son, Inc.

Service will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Dr. Doug Magin officiating.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
