Nelson E. Frantz

Nelson E. Frantz, age 82, of Troy, OH passed away on December 27, 2021, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton with his wife, daughter, and son by his side. He was born June 10, 1939 in Troy to the late Victor I and Drusilla (Howland) Frantz.

Nelson is survived by his wife of 61 years: Nancy (McClain) Frantz; children: Ms. Tonia Frantz Carter of Delaware, OH and Mr. Ty (Heather) Frantz of Perrysburg, OH.; 6 grandchildren: Addison and Savannah Carter, Anna Sommers, Madelyn, Isabelle, and Emersyn Frantz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Victor I. Frantz II.

Nelson was a Documentation Engineer with Laser Mike for 11 years, Allied for 23 years and 7 years with Joe Johnson Chevrolet in Quality Control. In addition, he had the opportunity to work for his best friend Gabe Hartman’s excavating company.  He was a 1957 graduate of Troy High School, a member of Franklin Lodge F&AM #14 and attended First United Methodist Church in Troy. Nelson served in the US Army 37th Division as a SP-4 during the Vietnam War.  Over the years he also enjoyed and had the opportunity to own and drive several corvettes as one of his favorite hobbies.

Friends may call on the family during visitation from 4-6:00PM on Monday January 3rd followed by a funeral service to be held at 6:00PM at Baird Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Heckaman officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
