Michael Henry "Mike" Treon

MICHAEL HENRY TREON, age 79, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his residence.  He was born in Dayton on September 3, 1941 to the late Robert L. and Irene (Kaiser) Treon.

Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years: Ruth R. (Coonen) Treon; four children: Beth (David Oakes) Treon of Reston, VA, Amy (Tom) Smedley of Palmyra, VA, Jan (Alex) Kocsy of Malvern, PA and Mark (Stacie Stender) Treon of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren: Connor, Rylie, Alex, Grant and Parker; one brother: John Treon of Troy; and one sister: Mary Ann Treon of Dayton.

Mike was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School.  He graduated from University of Dayton in 1964 with a degree in geology.  He worked heavy highway construction with B. G. Danis and Mainline Road and Bridge and as a registered surveyor.  Mike proudly served his country from 1964-1966 as a member of the US Army Corps of Engineers.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.  Mike was also a life member of Troy Elks BPOE #833, Land Surveyors of Ohio and NRA.  In addition, he was a member of Troy Fish and Game and Brukner Nature Center.  He was a lover of the outdoors and spending time in nature, whether hunting, fishing or hiking.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Monday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
