Luz Mamitag

LUZ MAMITAG, age 80, of Troy, OH passed away on January 11, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH.  She was born on May 18, 1942, in Albuera, Leyte, Philippines to the late Elpidio Montebon, Sr., and Conigunda Espina Montebon.

Luz is survived by her sons: Samuel Mamitag of Domalandan West, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines, Marvin Mamitag of Troy, OH, Leonid Mamitag of Antipolo City, Philippines, and Gerald Mamitag of Troy, OH; siblings: Elpidio Montebon, Jr., of Ormoc City, Philippines, Pete Montebon of Houston, OH, Carmen Kingrey of Versailles, OH and Sol Bulcher of Versailles, OH.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Engr. Abundio P. Mamitag, Sr., David Montebon, Fortunato Montebon, Eulalia Montebon, Primo Montebon, Teresa Montebon, Reynaldo Montebon and Librada Montebon.

Luz was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Troy, OH, Philippine-American Society of Greater Dayton, OH, and the Catholic Women’s League, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines. She received her degree in Commerce, with a major in Banking and Finance. Luz was a school registrar at St. Columban's Institute, Domalandan West, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines, a teacher at Mary Help of Christians Seminary and a cashier at Meijer, Troy, OH for several years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. Patrick Church at 409 E. Main St., Troy, OH.

Interment ceremonies will follow the celebration of life mass at the Hayner Chapel in Riverside Cemetery, 101 Riverside Dr., Troy, OH.

Dinner reception follows after the interment of Luz Mamitag at St. Patrick Church Undercroft (reception area).
