Lois Anne (Grimes) Meek

Lois Anne (Grimes) Meek, age 75, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Koester Pavilion in Troy.  She was born on June 5, 1946, in Troy to the late Carl and Lillian (Hardy) Grimes.

Lois is survived by her son: Todd (Michele) Oaks; grandchildren: Luke (Caren) Oaks and Connor Oaks; brother: Charles Grimes; sister-in-law: Diane (Russell) Bogner and many nieces, nephews and close friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Doug Meek and brother: Hilden Grimes.

Lois was a 1964 graduate of Troy High School, the same year she saw the Beatles.  She went on to graduate from the Richard Weston School of Beauty Culture and was a hair stylist until the late 70’s.  She then became an advertising layout director and eventually becoming the graphics arts manager at Troy Daily News until its untimely collapse in the late 1990s.  She finished her career as an office manager for Miami Control System in Ludlow Falls.

A quote from Todd, “All my friends tell me I have the coolest Mom and I never once thought that about anybody’s Mom (except Norma), I guess because I had the coolest Mom.”

Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on October 2, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
