John E. Sutherly

John E. Sutherly, age 73, of Troy passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Brookdale of Troy.  He was born on June 8, 1945 in Troy to the late Wesley and Catherine (Miller) Sutherly.

He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Rita Sutherly of Troy, William and Carol Sutherly of Troy, Bonnie Sutherly of Troy; sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Tom Fulton of Troy; nieces and nephews and their spouses: Jim and Pam Sutherly of Casstown, Sam and Laura Sutherly of Troy, Molly and Tavis Shane of Casstown, Dan Sutherly of Troy, Amy and Craig Reiter of Perrysburg, John and Kate Fulton of Troy, Brian Bensman of Troy, Ben and Julia Sutherly of Troy, David and Linde Sutherly of New Carlisle and Katie Sutherly of Troy; and fifteen great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother, James Sutherly; brother, Robert W. Sutherly; niece, Catherine Bensman; great-niece, Breann Sutherly and great nephew, Jacob Bensman.

John attended The Ohio State University.  He served in the International Guard during the 1960’s.  He was a lifelong area farmer and Co-Owner of Miami Valley Feed and Grain.  He was a member of Cove Spring Church, Troy.  He was an avid sports fan and played on the church softball team for over 20 years.  He was the favorite uncle of all the nieces and nephews.  

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund at Cove Spring Church, 5705 Walnut Grove-Clark County Road, Troy, Ohio 45373.
