ESTHER MARCELINE “MARCY” SWIGART

On Good Friday, our loving and “one of a kind” mother went to Heaven to meet Jesus and be with our father.  Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Becky (Scott) McConnell of Troy, Debby (Bob) Sturgeon of Troy, David (Teresa) Swigart of Troy, Chris (Becky) Swigart of Sanger, TX Sandra (Frank) Corricello of Denver, CO and Nancy Swigart of Covington.  She was a wonderful grandmother to ten grandchildren, Skip (Amber) Collins, Andy McConnell, Tiffany (Joe) Collin, Jacki Kirtley, Erika (Zach) Bowser, Stacy (James) Douglas, Chelsea Swigart, Eric Swigart, Greg Corricello and Julie (Ed) DeCecco.  She was a great grandmother to fifteen, a great great grandmother to one grandson, a daughter to the late Lillian Long Black and Thomas Black, a sister to her late brothers, John Roger Black and James Byron “JB” Tamplin and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.  Also, she leaves behind her very special friend, Jeanie Drake.

If you met our mother, you liked her immediately.  You always knew what was on her mind as she spoke it freely!  She enjoyed working at Marsh’s and County Market in the Deli where she was known to all as Grandma or Marcy.  But more than anything, she lived her life for her children and her husband, Lloyd, who preceded her in death in 2017.  We take comfort in the fact that she is with Dad again because in 67 years of marriage they were never apart.  Our loss is Heaven’s gain!  May they rest in peace. 

A service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Jon Keller officiating.  Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:00PM on Wednesday.  As a courtesy, masks are requested. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Miami County or a food bank and hug your mother and tell her you love her while you still can.
