Emery H. "Mac" McCoppin

Emery H. “Mac” McCoppin, age 97, of Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away on April 27, 2022 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.  He was born on July 25, 1924 in Hillsboro, OH to the late Charles and Etta (Countryman) McCoppin.  He married Doris J. (Stevenson) McCoppin on August 1, 1946 in Jackson, MS and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2014.

Mac is survived by one son: Steve McCoppin of Bowling Green, OH; one daughter and son-in-law: Sherrie and Cameron Beck of Warrensburg, MO and two granddaughters: Amanda Avent Nichols (Todd) of Greenwood, MO, Kathryn Avent of Kansas City, MO; great-granddaughter: Madison Rose Nichols and a niece: Nita Lord (Tom) of Lebanon, OH.  In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Wilford McCoppin.

Mac served his country in the US Army during WWII.  He was a 73 year member of the First Baptist Church in Troy, OH.  Mac was also a member of Grover Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO.  He was a member of the Franklin Lodge No. 14 F&AM of Troy.  Mac retired after 45 years of service with Hobart Corporation and then served as a driver with Enterprise following his retirement.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy, OH with Pastor Doug Magin officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2pm at the funeral home.
