Elsa D. Barber

Elsa D. Barber, age 85, of Troy, OH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 after a brief illness. 

She was born on January 15, 1937 to Rex and Dorothy (Browning) Daubenspeck.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Elsa is survived by her daughter: Linda (Kenneth) Morris; grandchildren: Alex Barber, Matthew Morris, Jason (Natalie) Morris, and Jessica (Dan) Lutey;  and great grandchildren: Dylan, Madeline, Keegan, Willow, and Brexton. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda (James) Klausmeier and Ruth (Albert) Bailer.  Elsa was preceded in death by Robert Barber, an infant daughter: Barbara and son: James Barber.

Elsa earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.  She taught for the Milton Union Schools for many years. She also worked for Morton Plant Hospital in Florida, the Cincinnati Public Library System, and retired from the Edison State College Library. Elsa never knew a stranger and enjoyed making new friends. She loved working with children and adults, helping them to further their education and encouraging a love of knowledge.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Randall Residence and Promedica/Heartland for their kindness and care of Elsa. Baird Funeral Home has been entrusted with her final arrangements.
