Elizabeth C. "Betty" Burt

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Burt, age 92, of Troy, OH passed away on December 28, 2021 at Brookdale of Troy. She was born December 26, 1929 in Windsor, Ontario Canada to the late Harold and Flora (Lynd) Saville.

Betty is survived by children: Beverly (Neil) Currie of White Lake, MI, Dennis (Cyndy) Burt of Troy, Carol Rogowski of Myrtle Beach, SC, Holly (Gary) Majewski of Temperance, MI; 7 grandchildren: Alan & Kevin Currie, Morgan Gulker, Gordon Burt, Rachel Rogowski and Elizabeth and Analeigh Majewski; 2 great grandchildren: Tripp and Brielle; and 2 sisters: Pat Radnick of MI and Margaret Glass of Nevada. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William E. Burt in 2010; sons: Christopher and David Burt; sisters Phyllis Cook, Eileen Kaufman, Jean Myers, Sheila Lawlor and Gail Harper; brothers: Greg, Bill, and Hugh Saville

Betty was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Troy Senior Center.  She was also a member of the First United Church of Christ, where she served as a Deaconess.  Betty was an avid sewer, passionate about quilt making, loved gardening and playing dominos.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, Michigan, at a later date.

Appreciation is extended to the staff at Brookdale Troy for their loving care of Betty.
