Charles E. Ferguson

Charles E. Ferguson, age 78, of Troy, OH passed away on August 10, 2022 at Kettering Troy Hospital.  He was born on July 23, 1944 in Huntington, WV to the late Harry and Clara (Thompson) Ferguson.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 8 years:  Rita (Knox) Ferguson; his son: Scott (Patty) Ferguson of Troy; four grandchildren: Sandra (Richard) Wills, Cory Griffieth, Jaelynne Griffieth and Josh (Erica) Ferguson; four great grandchildren: Anna, Ian, Avery Sue and Emmett; stepson: Wayne E. (Courtney) Hale Jr. of Troy; brothers: Terry (Shelly) Ross of Proctorville and Donnie Ross of Columbus and extended family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years: Bonnie Sue (Wells) Ferguson; daughter: Sherry Ferguson and brother: Lowell “Bo” Ferguson.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 971 and Troy Fish and Game.  He was an active member of harness racing.  He was formerly employed with Dinner Bell Foods and retired from the Miami County Sanitation Department after fifteen years of service.

Services will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-4:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.  A graveside service will take place at 10:00AM on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Vandalia, OH.
