Carl Kremer Obituary

Carl W. Kremer, age 88, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, May 21, 2018, surrounded by his wife of 61 years and his children.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (nee Storm) Kremer; his three sons and their wives (Chris & Charlotte Kremer, Tony & Rhonda Kremer, and Carl & Johanna Kremer), as well as his three daughters and their husbands (Susan & Kevin Brown, Maria & Kirke Elshoff, and Kathleen & Ed Janosky). He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Pappas, and his brother, John Kremer. Carl’s parents, Edward and Mary (nee Boerger) Kremer, along with his brother, Robert Kremer, passed away previously.

Along with his wife and children, Carl loved spending time with his 18 grandchildren: Kyle Kremer, Nicholas Kremer, Alexander Kremer, Anja Kremer, Kristina Kremer, Oliver Kremer, Joe Kremer, Jackie Kremer, Lindsey Brown, Erin Brown, Sean Brown, Luke Elshoff, Steven Elshoff, Zac Elshoff, Catherine Elshoff, Marielle Janosky, Rachel Janosky, and Raymond Janosky.

Carl was born on June 13, 1929, in Dayton, OH. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1948, where he played basketball and was a stand-out football player. He then attended the University of Dayton. Carl worked as a brick mason for more than 40 years and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Troy, OH, where he raised his family.

Carl was an avid sports enthusiast, following his favorite teams, especially Notre Dame football, UD basketball, and Moeller High School basketball. He also loved music and going to dances with his wife. But more than anything, Carl valued his family, faith, and hard work.

A Catholic burial mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 26, 2018. The visitation will be held at St. Leonard’s Chapel (8100 Clyo Road, Centerville, OH 45458) prior to Mass from 9-10:30 am.  Internment at Calvary Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass.
