Winona "Marie" Parson

Winona “Marie” Parson, age 89, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Vancrest of New Carlisle. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Garrison, KY, to the late Charles Herbert and Carrie (Madden) Ruckel.

Marie is survived by two children: Glenn “Roger” (Michelle) Parson, Jr. of Franklin, OH, and Shirley Ann (Michael) Taylor of Troy, OH; siblings: Bertie Jamison, Bonnie (Lawrence) Jerrell, Ruth Parson and Kathy (Virgil) Rhoden; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband: Glenn R. Parson on September 18, 2017; daughter: Sharon K. Fisher-Koeller; and siblings: Albert Ruckle, Nina Mae Ruckle, Erma Kiser-Oiler, JoAnn Jamison and Luther Ruckle.

Marie was a member of Alcony Grace Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown. Family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
