Wayne E. Wagner, age 84, of Troy, OH passed away on May 21, 2026 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born on June 30, 1941 in Piqua, OH to the late Ernest M. and Marie M. (Douthitt) Wagner.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Barbara (Smith) Wagner; sons and daughters-in-law: David (Tina) Wagner of The Villages, FL and Tim (Tina) Wagner of Troy, OH; two grandchildren: Douglas (Crystal) Wagner and Arika (Nathan Bishop) Wagner and great granddaughter: Gianna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law: Bernard C. “Bernie” and Annabelle Wagner.
Wayne was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School. He was the owner and operator for 52 years at Wagner Plumbing and Heating in Troy. He was a 60 year member of the Franklin Lodge #14 F&AM; a member of the Antioch Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge and the First United Church of Christ, Troy.
He was an avid fan of UD basketball and Buckeye football. He enjoyed his hot rods and car shows and especially his sons’ horse shows. He was a longtime bowler.
Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM. To honor Wayne, feel free to wear UD or Buckeye apparel.
