Robert “Bob” D. Bowman, age 74, of Troy, OH passed away on March 17, 2026 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born on September 25, 1951 in Piqua, OH to the late Harold and Agnes Marie (Howell) Bowman.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years: Barbara J. (Kirk) Bowman of Troy; children: Brian R. (Jennifer) Bowman of Troy, Molly J. (Matthew) Adams of McCordsville, IN, and Missy J. (Jason) Svajda of Wilmington; Grandchildren: Cody, Dustin, and Dalton (Kaitlyn) Adams, Alyssa and Emma Bowman, Jayden Svajda, and Jerika (Hunter) Leighton; siblings: Alfred (Juanita) Felver of Piqua, Donald Felver of Covington, GA, and his twin sister: Rose Anderson of Gainesville, GA; sister-in-law: Robin Bowman of Troy; father and mother-in-law: Roger (Nancy) Kirk of Casstown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by: his sister: Edythe Martin and brothers: Harold Bowman and Larry Bowman.
Bob was a 1969 graduate of Miami East High School. He proudly served in the US Air Force National Guard. Bob retired as a building official for Miami County. He coached Miami East High School Basketball. Bob was a member of First Light Church in Vandalia. He taught Sunday School at First Light Church and Troy Christian Church. Bob also enjoyed singing at the local churches. He enjoyed basketball, golf, and anything Ohio State, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at First Light Church, Vandalia. Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at the church. The family invites everyone to wear OSU apparel for the visitation and/or service.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
