Nancy Ann (Vorpe) Massie

Nancy Ann (Vorpe) Massie, age 83, was born on July 31, 1942 to Elmer C. and Dorothy R. Vorpe, both deceased. Nancy passed away on Sunday, April 12, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy and Allen were married on June 21st of 1964 and were married 62 years.

She is survived by her husband, Allen, son Chad (Becky) Massie, a daughter Molly (Owen) Riggs, grandchildren Aaron Massie, Carley Massie, Morgan (Kyle) Strange and Rebecca Neagle, sister Jane (Donald) Pence, and many nieces and nephews. Nancy will be missed by many other family members and friends.

Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Graham High School and attended Otterbein University where she was a Music and Organ major. She was the organist at First Baptist Church in Troy, Ohio for 45 years and an accomplished pianist. Nancy and her husband Allen owned and operated Vorpe House of Sight and Sound also in Troy.

In addition to loving being a Nana to her grandchildren, Nancy was an avid crafter, loved sewing, crocheting and quilting always making gifts for others, and she loved to cook and bake.

In her later years, she had a card and calling ministry to many shut-ins and people in her church.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Graveside services will follow in Honey Creek Cemetery in Christiansburg.

Friends may call on the family from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral.
