Maryanne Ryno Vrabel joined her beloved David on June 22, 2026.
MRV lived life with ferocity. She was a wife who loved with a depth few in our world get to see, much less experience. She was a mother, who cared and protected her family with intensity and passion. She spent her career as a school psychologist who fought tirelessly to advocate for her students and fellow educators. Her free time was spent training working dogs; helping them live their best life, and in turn getting to share it with them. Her relentless passion for knowledge and learning was felt by everyone whose lives she touched.
Of all her myriad of attributes, she was known most as someone who cared. For her beloved family, dogs, students, her friends, neighbors - and for anyone who ever needed a hand. She spent her time making sure she cared for the least of us, and no one around her was forgotten. And neither will she be.
Maryanne was preceded in death by her husband David E. Vrabel, her parents, John Morris Ryno and Anna Marie McMahon Ryno, and her sisters, Carol Ryno Bloom and Joanne Michelle Ryno (d. Foss). She is survived by her daughter, Jerilyn Ryno Schmidt (Michael), her granddaughter Eleanor, her brother Tim Hurlbert (Lori), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
As per her final wishes, no flowers should be sent. Instead, please consider a donation in her memory to one of these causes: the Miami County Park District to preserve the nature she cherished, Ohio's Hospice of Miami County for the compassionate care they provide, or the Paul G. Duke Health Partners Free Clinic to help the community she called home.
Visitation will be on July 1, 2026 from 3:00pm-6:00pm including a memorial service/eulogy at 5:15pm at Baird Funeral Home, 555 N Market Street, Troy, OH 45373.
