MARILYN FLORENCE (BRUNN) OSTING

Marilyn Florence (Brunn) Osting, age 94, of Troy, OH passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1931 in Wapakoneta, OH to the late Clarence Franklin and Mildred Margaret (Seitz) Brunn. She married Alven Albert Osting on July 4, 1952 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2024.

She is survived by her children: Philip M. (Debra) Osting of Troy, Cheryl Lee Hughes of Barberton, OH, Jeffrey A. (Deborah) Osting of Piqua, Robert J. (Toni) Osting of West Milton and Christopher (Lynne) Osting of Doylestown; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two step grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by sisters: JoAnn Bender and Jean Marie Perrine; and brother: Frederick Brunn.

She was a graduate of Bluffton High School class of 1950 and Lima St. Rita's Hospital nurse's training. Marilyn worked at Walter Reed Hospital while her husband was studying and working at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. After her husband was discharged from military service they settled in Bluffton, OH and started a family. In 1960, they moved to Troy, OH and was employed with Stouder, Dettmer and Piqua Hospitals.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. Marilyn had many nursing friends and truly loved her job serving patients. She had a great family, loved cooking, loved her pet poodle "Ginger", feeding the birds and also reading.

A Memorial Service will be held in memory of both Marilyn and Alven at 1:00PM on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH. Interment will take place in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00AM -1:00PM.
