LEE CLAIRE (TOMB) FERGUS, age 78, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born in Chicago, IL, on April 19, 1948, to the late Harold and Lavonia (Quinenberry) Tomb.
Lee is survived by three children: Forrest “Frankie” (Melinda) Fergus and Kellie (Jeremy) Hatfield, both of Sidney, and Richard (Krystal) Fergus of Wapakoneta; brother: Robert “Bobby” Tomb of Texas; sisters-in-laws: Loverna (Mitch) Dilbone of Sidney and Martha (Tim) Kozul of Troy and Lynn Tomb of MS; grandchildren: Frankie Lee, Nicole, Dakota, Aaron, Aryania, Jennifer, Megan, Vincent, Charlie, Kindal, Lowell, Haylie, Gabriel, Damien and Blaine; great grandchildren: Brianna, Matthew, Daisy Mae, Athena, Grace Lillian, Jaxtyn, Oakley, Coraline, Lovelyn, Azuri, Scarlett, Willow, Aurora, Novalyn, Tanner and Elijah: and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by her husband of almost 33 years, Lowell Franklin “Frank” Fergus; and brother: Matthew Tomb.
Together with her husband, Frank, she catered many meals and special occasions for friends and family. They loved to do wedding cakes and all of their creations were spectacular. Lee was a licensed Cosmetologist. She was also formerly the manager of 7-11 in Norfolk, VA, and Speedway in Sidney for over 20 years. Above all else, she loved her family. They were the most important thing in her life.
A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Road, Sidney. Friends and family may call from 4:00-5:00 PM prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
