Joseph “Joe” Lee Hochdoerfer, age 78, of Troy, OH passed away on April 28, 2026 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. He was born on January 25, 1948 in Dayton, OH to the late Joseph and Marjorie (Strine) Hochdoerfer.
Joe is survived by his wife of 34 years: Patricia Jo (Spencer) Hochdoerfer of Troy; children: Angelique Duffy of Kennesaw, GA and Rene Perry of Venice, FL; grandchildren: Austin and Presley Duffy, and Chaz and Alivia Toomey; brother: Charles (Nancy) Hochdoerfer of Tipp City; nieces: Jennifer (Jennifer) Hochdoerfer and Erin (David) Davoli-Frangipane; great nieces: Savannah and Penny.
Joe was a graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School. He earned his associate degree in electronics from Devry University. Joe was a US Army Veteran serving during Vietnam, where he was awarded 3 Purple Hearts. He worked as a substation electrician and lineman for DP&L for 43 years. Joe was a member of American Legion Post 707 in Englewood and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City. He loved playing golf and driving his red Corvette.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Baird Funeral Home.
