Catherine Ann "Cathy" (McConnell) Cindric, born June 27, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving brother, daughter, and devoted fiancé, Lee. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, compassion, and dedication, woven through her roles as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, and friend.

Cathy was the beloved daughter of Michael and Dorothy McConnell, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved husband, William Cindric, and cherished grandson, Michael Vernau. Together, Cathy and William built a loving family and a lifetime of treasured memories that continue to live on in the hearts of their children and grandchildren.

A proud graduate of St. Elizabeth Nursing School's Class of 1961, Cathy dedicated more than 40 years to the nursing profession. Nursing was not simply her career; it was a calling that reflected her gentle spirit, selflessness, and unwavering compassion. She had a remarkable gift for comforting others, and her kindness touched countless patients, families, colleagues, and friends throughout the years. Her legacy of caring lives on in all those whose lives she enriched.

Cathy was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City, where her faith provided strength, guidance, and comfort throughout her life. She found great joy in family fishing trips to the cottage in Wisconsin and visits to Sandusky, creating precious memories filled with laughter and togetherness. She adored her pets, who brought her constant companionship and happiness. Whether gathering with loved ones at home or enjoying the occasional trip to the casino, Cathy treasured every moment spent with family and friends.

In her later years, Cathy was blessed to find love once again with her fiancé, Lee Scheidweiler. Lee brought renewed joy, companionship, and happiness into her life, proving that love can find us when we least expect it. Their relationship was a testament to enduring love, friendship, and devotion. Cathy also embraced Lee's family as her own and treasured the blessings of their blended family. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lee and his family for the love, care, and happiness they brought to her life.

Cathy is survived by her children, Steve (Lilian) Cindric, Mary (Jay) Vernau, Tom (Julie) Cindric, Teresa (Dan) McHugh, Peter (Kelly) Cindric, and Paul (Desiree) Cindric; her brother, Bill (Linda) McConnell; her fiancé, Lee Scheidweiler; and Lee's children, Lisa (John) Auvil, Sue (Mark) Winsel, and Jenny (Tony) Niekamp. She is also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life service remembering Cathy's life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman whose warmth, kindness, and love touched so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, whose compassionate caregivers provided comfort and support during Cathy's final months.

Cathy's life was a beautiful example of love in action. She gave generously of herself, cared deeply for others, and found joy in the people she loved. Her gentle heart, warm smile, and unwavering compassion will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
