Ruth Bader Berchtold, 95, of Englewood, Ohio and formerly of Troy, Ohio died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Alterra-Sterling House of Englewood, surrounded by family. She was born on May 19, 1911 in Troy, Ohio to the late Jacob and Mary Steinmetz Bader. She married Rudolph Berchtold and he precedes her in death, July 13, 2001. They were married for 67 years. She is survived by five children, sons & daughters-in-law; Kenton & Cynthia Berchtold of Middletown, MD; Max & Marge Berchtold of West Jefferson, OH; daughters & sons-in-law; Judy & Larry Englert of Eaton, OH; Carolyn Berchtold of Dayton, OH; Jane & Rich Plaskon of Englewood, OH; twelve grandchildren, Craig & Marcia Berchtold Rosner; Jason, Sandra & Mark Berchtold; Chris, Scott, Matthew, and Katie Englert; Sara Plaskon Weaver and Amy & Erik Plaskon and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant daughter, Sandra Marlene Berchtold; three brothers, Harry, Martin, and Walter Bader. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy, OH; Election Poll Worker for many years and Volunteer at Stouder Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College. She formerly was employed as a legal Secretary and Court Stenographer and then a homemaker for 67 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00am at the Riverside Cemetery Chapel, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Anthony Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Friday, June 2, 2006 from 5-8PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Hospice or Donor's Choice of Charity. Due to festival traffic suggested directions to the funeral home: Enter Troy via St. Rt. 202, heading north. Stay on St. Rt. 202 until it comes to the dead end, turn left, on St. Rt. 55 Staunton Road, heading west. At the intersection of Staunton Road and Market Street, turn right to go to the funeral home, or go straight to go to Riverside Cemetery Chapel.
