Words cannot express what Joan meant to myself, Larry and all three of our boys. She truly became a dear friend and we are saddened that once she got ill and could no longer attend football games that we didn't make more of an effort to visit her. We will never forget her kind eyes and warm smile! And, her hugs! We all loved her hugs! Tonight we wrap our arms around you all in comfort! Julie and Larry Merkert

My condolences go out to you and your family. When I lost my grandparents I found comfort in the Bible. One of my favorite scriptures to look at is Revelation 21:4 where God promises, "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." You will get to see her again when God brings everyone back to life - John 5:28,29. I hope this brings you comfort.
