James C. "Jim" Denning

James C. “Jim” Denning, age 83, of Tipp City, OH, passed away on Saturday February 24, 2018 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. He was born on October 25, 1934 in Piqua, OH to the late Elmer Denning and Edna (Clark) Denning.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary Lou (Smith) DeHart; daughters: Beverly Denning of St. Marys, Barb Hoelscher of Minster, Karen Vandam of Dayton, and Connie Huff of Ft. Loramie; Step Children:  Michele (Bryan) Blake of Tipp City and Michael (Janet) DeHart of Bradford; brother:  Steve Denning of Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren: Chasity (Justin) Holscher, Tim Denning, Rose Kinnet, Dustin Kinnet, Austin Hoelscher, Adam Hoelscher, Macy Hoelscher, Joshua Vandam, Nathan Vandam, Renee Vandam, Meredith DeHart, Andrew DeHart, Caleb Blake and Luke Blake; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; two sisters: Ellen Boehringer and Glenna Todd and two brothers:  Paul and Tom Denning.

Jim was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Tipp City.  He enjoyed going to the casino and taking particular care of his lawn and spending time with family.

Jim attended Piqua schools and retired from Clark’s Tool and Machine.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. John Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on March 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
