Betty Lou (Smith) Richardson

Betty Lou Richardson, age 85, formerly of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Dublin Assisted Living and Memory Care in Dublin, OH.  She was born on December 14, 1932 in Bedford, PA to the late D. Raymond and Marguerite (Beckley) Smith.

Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years: Odell Richardson; children: Daniel L. (Gwen) Richardson of Lafayette, IN and Dorcas A. (Robert) Lewe of Dublin, OH; grandchildren:  Jessica and Bobby Lewe; Jacob, Abby, Jennifer, Caleb, Bethany and Matthew Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Mary Smith Whitford; and granddaughter, Hannah Lewe.

Betty was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Dublin and former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Tipp City and the AAUW in Troy.   Betty was a teacher for five years in Pennsylvania and Ohio and retired from the Troy-Miami County Public Library.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 on September 1 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with Pastor John Morris officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 on September 1 at the funeral home.  Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Camping Corporation of Central Pennsylvania @ LutheranCamping.org/giving or the charity of your choice.
