My time with Jack was brief however I always looked forward to chatting with him when he had that moment together. I gave him a start of my Goldfish plant because he thought his son Jack would enjoy the unique blooms. Cindy he was so worried and loved you. He was an exceptional person and I will miss him greatly. May that little Goldfish plant give you many blooms and share the starts and you think of one of the nicest fellows ever to come along. I look forward to shaking your hand again one day in Heaven instead of drawing your labs. Cindy he's your guardian angel now not just your Father in Law. Joann, Jack always adored and loved you. May the days ahead become easier with time.

Our times with Uncle Jack were so special. Most of the time was sitting around together as a family after we'd all flown in from California. Whenever I hear ice clinking in glasses, I am 7 years old again in their living room, sneaking colas out of the big buckets, while the grown ups talked. I have this memory of a piano somewhere nearby we used to play. We'd wander off while the elders caught up and gossiped and shared updates from friends they'd known for decades . And we loved those times so much. I tell the stories to my 3 boys now. Every night at bedtime, they want a new story from "when you were young like us." So ironic, isn't it? We've switched places. I'd love to have more stories of Uncle Jack that I can add to our bedtime routine. I want my boys to know as much as possible about their Great Uncle Jack, so they'll carry on the stories with their own kids someday. Anyone interested, especially during the war, please share with me xoxoxo - maggie@qualeconsulting.com

Aunt Porky, I'm so sorry about Uncle Jack. My mom just told me the news. I think often about great memories with you both. One of my favorites was when you both started swing dancing in the church parking lot before service started (it had to be in the late 80s or early 90s). My girls want to (repeatedly) hear the story about when Uncle Jack took me fishing. He made his famous bait that he was so proud of. Then took me to a creek, where I made the first catch of my life: a snapping turtle that proceeded to chase after us when he got off the hook. Then there was the tornado/flood, when Grandma drove all of us and Laura to your house (with the cats, of course). I've always loved you both and appreciated so much what great people you are. I know many people will miss Uncle Jack, you more than anyone. I pray for God's peace to be with you during this time and always. I love you -- Char

So sorry to hear about Jack's passing. I will miss seeing you around the community at the music concerts. I always looked for both of you eating lunch after church on Sunday. God be with you during this time of your loss.
