Ernie was a joy to work with at the SkillsUSA NLSC. He was also there to answer questions of new staff and volunteers. He had a lot of patience and knowledge. My sincere sympathy to his family. He was a wonderful person.

Worked with Ernie for several years at SkillsUSA. One of the last things I did every week during the contest was giving Ernie all the prizes. After the long week he always had a smile on his face during all the chaos. He sure had a heart for the kids. Sorry to hear of your loss, he was a super guy.

My sincere sympathy to Ernie's family. He was such a sweet and gentle man. I knew him through his work with Skills USA as we strived to make the many national conferences successful ones. He was a gem!

Ernie was one of the most genuine people I have ever met. Always had a smile on his face in front of our "guests" - even if he wasn't feeling 100% that day. I considered him a true friend - even though we only saw each other once a year and talked on the phone occasionally. I will indeed miss seeing him at conference.

Ernie was a mentor and friend to me for years. I looked forward to seeing his smiling face at the national SkillsUSA conference each year. A truly great man who will be missed by many. Rest in peace, my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and the family. Ernie was a true Champion for the students and teachers of SkillsUSA. His work as a volunteer over the past 48 years made a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of students. He was always there for them and for our staff who all worked hard to support the students in their skills competitions and in the areas of leadership development. Ernie's legacy will continue for decades and we will miss him greatly. Thank you Ernie for all you did for kids, teachers and schools all across America!
