Vernon C. "Buddy" Sharits, Jr.

Vernon C. “Buddy” Sharits, Jr., age 71, formerly of Troy and more recently of Celina passed away on May 30, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on December 13, 1949 in Troy to the late Vernon C. Sharits, Sr. and Hazel (Yount) Sharits.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 43 years:  Julie (Raymond) Sharits; brother: Scott Sharits of Troy; sisters: Marla Dickensheets and Sheila Sharits both of Troy; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mike (Judy) Raymond, Keith (Susan) Raymond, Loren (Julie) Raymond, Ronnie (Kelly) Raymond and Carol Raymond.  In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by brother: Bobby; sister-in-law: Denise Stuchell and brother-in-law: Mark Raymond.

Buddy was a 1969 graduate of Troy High School.  He was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men and Past Great Sachem for the State of Ohio.  Buddy was executive chef with the Naples Sailing Yacht Club and then at the Troy Country Club where he retired as the Club’s bar manager.  Buddy loved to play cards and do jigsaw puzzles.

Service will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00PM – 7:00PM concluded by the Red Men service.
