Thomas R. "Tom" Bensinger, Sr.

THOMAS R. “TOM” BENSINGER, SR., age 78, of Casstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City.  He was born on December 5, 1942, in Muskegon, MI to the late Ted and Maxine (Warren) Bensinger.  His wife of 59 years, Janie L. (Cartwright) Bensinger, preceded him in death on February 24, 2020.

Tom is survived by four children: Thomas Bensinger Jr., Kerry (Tom “Dex”) Coffield, and Mark Bensinger, all of Troy, and Patric (Debbie) Bensinger of Denver, CO; two grandchildren: Sarah (Michael) Fore and Travis Hunt; one great grandson: Cameron Hunt and one brother: Ted (Joanne) Bensinger of Muskegon, MI.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson: Erik Hunt and one sister: Debbie Brown.

Tom proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  He held an ASQ quality certification.  Tom was formerly employed as a machine inspector at ATI Industries. Tom was a Ham operator, with a call sign of  KB8JHY.

Service will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Jason Egbert officiating with military honors following.  Family will receive friends from 4-7PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH at a later date.
