Thomas J. Nickras

Thomas J. Nickras, MD, age 74, passed away on March 27, 2023, following a short illness.  He was born in South Bend, Indiana, on September 13, 1948 to the late Anthony F. and Kathryn (Klem) Nickras.

Tom grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated from St. Ignatius High School.  He took his Pre-med courses at the University of Dayton and went on to earn his medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.  He specialized in Internal Medicine and worked with Troy Internal Medicine for over 40 years.  He finished his medical career working at Primary Care Internists and retired at the end of 2019.

Tom is survived by his wife: Barbara; brother: Anthony C. Nickras of Cleveland, Ohio; his sons: Michael (Eleanor) Nickras of Akron, Ohio, and James (Christine) Nickras of St. Peter, Minnesota; daughter: Sophia (Joseph) Wolke of Wyoming, Ohio; and stepsons: James (Diana) Morlan of Troy, Ohio, and Jonathan (Carrie) Morlan of Pleasant Plain, Ohio.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Gracie, Andrew, Madison, Lilianne, Thomas, Ben, Keegan, Cecilia and Anais.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM on April 21, 2023, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
