Ronald D. Sweeney

Ronald D. Sweeney, age 79, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on September 19, 1941, in Liberty, KY, to the late Arnold and Flossie (Moore) Sweeney.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mary (Davis) Sweeney; three children: Christopher D. Sweeney of Troy, Angela C. Sweeney of Troy and Lynn M. (Randy) Mathias of Plain City, OH; two siblings: Darrell (Joyce) Sweeney of Columbia, SC and Una R. Sweeney of Centerville, OH; grandchildren: Julia and Morgan Mathias; and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald was a graduate of Milton Union High School.  He received his Bachelor Degree in Finance from Wright State University and Masters Degree from Central Michigan in Financial Systems.  Ronald proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, Miami County Amateur Radio Club and Miami County Board of Realtors.  Ronald worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until retiring in 1995.  He then worked in real estate as an agent with Berkshire Hathaway Realtors in Troy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 20, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Fr. James Duell as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with military honors presented by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.  Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.  The family requests that everyone please wear a mask.
