Rodney Hoblit Obituary

Rodney A. Hoblit, age 74, of Troy, passed away on January 1, 2022, at his residence.  He was born on November 11, 1947, in Greenville to the late Orville and Sylvia (Schleiger) Hoblit.

Rod is survived by his wife: Dilsie D. (Eley) Hoblit; three stepchildren: Eric (Stacy) Robinson, Kristen Lewinski and Ed (Angie) Robinson; three daughters: Jody, Tracy, Kathleen and their families; siblings: Clifford E. Hoblit, Carl J. Hoblit, Robert D. (Sue) Hoblit, Anna M. Fair, Carolyn J. (Ron) Stamps, Marian E. (Charles) Miller and Dale L. Hoblit; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Larry D. Hoblit, Louise Alice Hunley, William B. Hoblit and Janice May Baker.

Rod proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, having served in Vietnam.  He was a graduate of Franklin Monroe High School and received his Engineering Degree from ITT College.  Rod retired from GM-Delphi Division.  He enjoyed camping.  After retiring, Rod got to live his dream of living on the lake and fishing.  More recently, he enjoyed car shows and studying documentaries on wars.

Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will be in Abbottsville Cemetery in Greenville.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.  Masks are requested for those in attendance.
