Robert "Bob" William Scott Obituary

Robert “Bob” William Scott, 83, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 in the care of his loving wife.

He was born on August 28th, 1939 in Dearborn, Michigan, to the late William Scott and Evelyn (nee McKusick) Scott. Bob graduated from Dearborn High School (‘57), before serving in the U.S. Army Military Police. Following a serendipitous interruption of his post-Army plans, he met his future wife, Lyn, during his single “emergency” semester at Henry Ford College. Lyn and Bob were wed December 16th, 1967 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Bob graduated from the Detroit Institute of Technology, where he was Class President, before earning his MBA from Central Michigan University. The enduring friendship and respect of the many classmates, co-workers, and repeat bosses accumulated over his 40-year career in accounting were among his most treasured relationships.

Outside of his career, Bob enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, the close friendship of his Lincolnshire neighbors, coffee at K’s, and civic involvement in the Troy Music Boosters. Bob was a lifetime member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #542 in Michigan, as was his father.

He is survived by his wife: Lyn (nee Krohn) Scott; daughter: Adrienne (nee Scott) Barnes; son: Robert (Lauren) Scott; brother: Don (Pat) Scott; sister: Sue (Casey) Scott; and three beloved grandchildren: William, Charlie, and Katharine.

A ceremony and celebration of life for friends and family will be held in Troy in June.  Arrangements are by Baird Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Bob’s hospice support and nurse Stephany.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or The Future Begins Today. Condolences may be expressed to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
