Richard L. "Dick" Dixon Obituary

Richard L. “Dick” Dixon, age 73, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Koester Pavilion after a brief illness.  He was born on July 12, 1948, in Troy, OH, to his parents: George and Ramona (Cavanaugh) Dixon.  Dick graduated from Troy High School class of 1966.  He married Christine E. (Mumma) Dixon on January 20, 1968; and she survives in Troy.

He worked for Hobart Corporation for 25 years.  In addition, he worked for the City of Troy for 17 years.  He served in the US Navy from 1967-1978 as an active duty and a reservist.  He was a lifetime member of the Auxiliary VFW Post #5436, the AMVETS Post 88 – Troy and 50-year member of the Troy Redmen’s Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father: George Dixon.  Dick is survived by his mother: Ramona Dixon; wife of 53 years: Christine E. Dixon; their two children: Rene Naas of Troy and Shane (Shelley) Dixon of Troy; grandchildren: Austin Naas, Marissa Naas, Mikayla Dixon and Madison Dixon, all of Troy; siblings: Bill (Susie) Dixon of GA, Joan (Dale) Deaton of Troy, Elaine Cole of FL; Tom (Ann) Dixon of VA and Jim (Pilar) Dixon of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington with Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.  Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
