Ralph Edward Clifton Obituary

Ralph Edward Clifton, age 69, of Troy, OH passed away on May 12, 2021 at Soin Medical Center.  He was born June 29, 1951 in Storm Lake, IA to the late  George Orville Clifton and Della (Cooper) Clifton Buchanan.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 35 years: Kimberly (Coffey) Clifton; three children: Christopher Clifton and Jeanetta Stowe of Robertsville, MO; Lorrie and Tim Loudy of Greenville and Matthew and Megan Clifton of Vandalia; one brother: George and Cathy Clifton of Palestine; one sister: Mallie and Louis Case of Greenville; one brother-in-law: Rodney Brickler of Greenville; eight grandchildren: Mackenzie (Justin) Poynter, Zachary (Elizabeth) Clifton, Jacob Clifton, Jenna Stowe, Ava Loudy, Caleb Stowe, Sara Loudy and Parker Clifton and four great grandchildren: Ryan Clifton, Colten Clifton, Hudson Poynter and Kyler Watson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Cassandra “Cassie” Clifton and sister: Janie Clifton; grandson: Evan Sides; sister: Mary Sue Brickler and brother: Randy Clifton.

Ralph was a 1969 graduate of Westmont High School.  He was a purchasing manager with Select - Arc in Ft. Loramie.  He was a member of the Purchasing Association, the Goldwing Riders Association and United States Bowling Congress.

Ralph lived life in the fast lane, whether it was driving race cars in his youth, corvettes or motorcycles.  He loved life the most when he was on two wheels, chasing his shadow with his wife behind him.  When he wasn’t behind the wheel of a vehicle, he was happiest spending time with family.  He loved his wife, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his fur baby, “baby girl Liesl”.  He enjoyed traveling because his wife forced him to.  He was known as  “Mr. Fix It” who was always happy to help anyone anytime with any tool someone would need.  He sought adventure by sky diving for his 60th birthday, enjoyed many years of bowling, camping, skipping rocks, and loved to tell his  “bad dad jokes”.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the funeral home.  Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
