Patricia J. (McEowen) Long

Patricia J. (McEowen) Long, age 90, of Troy, passed away on November 20, 2021 at StoryPoint in Troy.  She was born in Piqua on September 5, 1931 to the late Hershel H. and Elnora (Jones) McEowen. 

Pat is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Krista and Dave Magill of Piqua, Kathy and Steve Cecil of Burlington, NC and Kimbe and Frank Lange of Piqua; son and daughter-in-law: Kent and Darlene Long of Troy; grandchildren:  Justin (Kari) Magill, Jason (Jenny) Magill, Audrey (Jack) Wilder, Lucas (Laura) Cecil, Alisha Lange, Angie (Cory) Sunderhaus, Stephen Long, Michael (Jordan) Long, Charline (James) Yoe, Aaron (Diana) Snyder and Adam (Katelyn) Snyder; and great grandchildren: Haisley and Marley Magill, Emmy, Flynn and Addy Magill, Flynn, Owen and Reagan Wilder, Gabriel and Zachary Cecil, Lowen and Deliah Lange, Conner, Addie and Tyler Sunderhaus, Sophie and Greyson Long, Andrew and Adriana Snyder, Ayla, Annalee and Austin Snyder and Aubrey and Angela Yoe.  In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Charles E. Long and grandson: Joshua Magill. 

Pat was a 1949 graduate of Piqua High School.  She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton.  Pat served as the county extension agent in Miami County for 25 years.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy.  She was also a member of the Miami County Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.  She was a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and an avid football fan.

Services will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Chris Heckaman officiating.  Private interment will be held in Miami Memorial Park in Covington at a later date.  The family will receive friends following the service until 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
