Michael A. Harwood

Michael A. Harwood, age 61, of Piqua, OH passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2021 in Ontario, OH.  He was born on June 19, 1959 in Glendale, CA to the late Maurice and Marilyn (Grugel) Harwood. 

He is survived by his wife: Deanna M. (Penrod) Harwood; daughter: Stephanie Williams of Piqua and Brandi (Joe) Reeder of New Carlisle; daughter-in-law: Ashley Harwood of Springfield; stepsons: David (Emily) Brown of Delaware and Ryan (Ashley) Whitney of Piqua; nine grandchildren: Mathew, Clayton, Anna, Dylan, Joel, Marilyn, Zoey, Jack and Harrison; brother: Burt Kelley of Chicago, IL; uncle: Gary (Cathy) Evans of MI; brothers-in-law: Duane (Tammy) Penrod and Dennis (Cindy) Penrod both of Piqua; sister-in-law: Debra (Don) Hole of Louisville, Ky and mother-in-law: Lois Hardesty of Piqua.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Michael J. Harwood.

Mike graduated from Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, MI and continued his studies at Kellogg Community College, Battle Creek, MI and Edison State Community College, Piqua.  Mike was currently employed as a project manager with Hartzell Industries.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, both of Dayton.  He was also a member of the Buckeye H.O.G. in Dayton, the SCCA and LEC.  He loved racing, woodworking, camping, motorcycles and off-roading.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He considered his friends as extended family members.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Masonic and Funeral Services to follow.
