Mary Lou (Klingensmith) Coakley

Mary Lou (Klingensmith) Coakley, age 91, of Tipp City, OH, passed away on December 3, 2022.  She was born and raised in Cygnet, OH.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Paul R. and Nancy (Feasel) Klingensmith; her Jr. High sweetheart and husband of 72 years: Thomas Lee Coakley; four sisters: Betty Fegley, Helen Claybaugh, Ike Klingensmith and JoAnn Kelley. She is survived by her son: Robert (Michelle) Coakley of Avon Lake, OH; daughters: Jill Coakley Price of Tipp City, OH, and Jackie (Jay) Gearon of Troy, OH; six grandchildren: Erin Coakley of Avon Lake, OH, Matt (Kristen) Gray of Pleasant Hill, OH, Andrew (Cindy) Gray of Kettering, OH, Kristin (Price) Gilliam of Tipp City, OH, Michael (Sabrina) Coakley of Avon Lake, OH, Tommy (Kayla) Gearon of St. Paris, OH; and eleven great grandchildren: Ridge, Greenlee, Presley, Lakelynne and Tudor Gray, Mason and Layne Gray, Henleigh and Chloe Gilliam, and Madeline and Savannah Coakley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Upon high school graduation, Mary went on to study cosmetology and became a licensed beautician.  She also worked formerly as a secretary with Black & Decker.

Mary was a member of the Cygnet United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, the Morris Chapter of North Baltimore, OH.  She was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed her vacations at Marco Island, FL, her home away from home.

Special thanks is extended to the E.R., Staff on 3 and ICU at Troy Kettering Hospital for their care of Mary.

Private family services will be held with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
