Linda Blumenstock Obituary

Linda Mae Blumenstock, age 78, of Troy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.  Waiting for her was her husband Joe and her parents, Joseph and Rosa Violet (Bullens) Wright.

Linda was born on September 10, 1943 and is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: David and Cindy Blumenstock of Kettering and Daniel Blumenstock of Troy; one sister: Peggy Jo Grunewald of Oak Harbor, WA;  three grandchildren: Andrew (Sarah) Blumenstock, Bethany (Tyler) Edmondson and Aaron Blumenstock; five great grandchildren: Levi, Kalia, Trent, Judah and Nora and nieces, nephews and extended family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert “Joe” Blumenstock and her brother-in-law: Ernst Grunewald.

Linda became a Christian at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Tipp City.  In her early years, Linda enjoyed playing jacks and hopscotch. She greatly enjoyed her family cats and would dress them in doll clothes and push them around in the baby buggy.

In Linda’s younger school days, she enjoyed sewing potholders and catching lightning bugs. She also participated in Blue Birds, Campfire Girls, Guild Girls, and Baptist Youth Fellowship at church.

She was a 1961 graduate of Tippecanoe High School. While in high school, Linda played the alto saxophone in the high school band.

After high school, she attended business college and subsequently went to work for the Mead Corporation where she met her husband, Joe.

Continuing to live out her faith through her church, she was an active member of the Living Word Church in Vandalia.  She founded the Knitting Hearts group teaching knitting, crocheting, and making items for charity in conjunction with the Living Word Church and the Troy-Miami County Public Library.

Linda was one of the most kind, gentle, helpful, and compassionate souls to walk the earth. God’s spirit, grace, and love surrounded her every day. She truly was a witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. One of her favorite scripture passages is Romans 10:9-10; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.  Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00AM – 12:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
