Lilah Lynn Ashworth

Lilah Lynn Ashworth, age 56 of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  She was born on August 28, 1964 in Troy to Nellie (Trader) Gessner and the late William Gessner.

Lilah is survived by three children: Levi Ashworth (Destiny Greentaner) of Florence, SC, Tesa Gessner of West Milton, and Josh (Kayla) Ashworth of Casstown; nine grandchildren: Adrienne, Becca, Landon, Javin, Xavier, Kalista, Layla, Zayla, and Avery; brother: Carson (Vicky) Gessner of Troy; sisters: Yvonne (Michael) Moran and Peggy Hurley, both of Troy; Brother-in-law: Eddie (Rosa) Ashworth; and nieces: Amber McKenzie and Scarlet (Mark) Henman.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ashworth, whom she married on November 16, 1985; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Edward and Ruth Ashworth.

Lilah retired early from Delphi Auto Manufacturing.  She loved and cared deeply about her family.  She found so much happiness spending time with her grandbabies.  Lilah had a wonderful beauty and style all her own.  Thom and Lilah did everything together.  They enjoyed many hobbies together – cooking, woodworking, painting, gardening and crocheting.  Our family finds peace in knowing that they are reunited in Heaven.  We know they will continue to watch over us all from above.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
