Laura Lou Christopher Bemus

Laura Lou Christopher Bemus, 60, of Troy, Ohio went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022 after a battle with cancer. She was born on June 15, 1961 in Troy, Ohio to the late Newell and Wyrtus Christopher.  She married Bradley Allen Bemus, her beloved next door neighbor on May 21, 1983, and he survives.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law; Benjamin and Teresa Bemus of Troy, OH; daughter & son-in-law; Elizabeth (Libby) and Jake Langston of Troy, OH; five grandchildren, Lydia Bemus, Adelyn Bemus, Reid Langston, Luke Langston and Betsy Langston; and her son Andrew’s partner Penny Drumm of Troy, OH. She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Bemus, and her brothers, Joe Klatte and Newell Christopher, Jr.  

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy, Ohio. 

Laura graduated from Troy High School (Class of 1979). She graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1983. She graduated with a Masters in Educational Administration, received her Principal License, and Superintendent License from the University of Dayton. She was an elementary teacher at Nevin Coppock Elementary School in Tipp City, Ohio, elementary principal in Greenville, Ohio, middle school principal and Curriculum Director for Vandalia-Butler City Schools and Assistant Superintendent for the last 10 years for Greenville City Schools. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2:00PM at the First United Methodist Church, Troy, Ohio with the Rev.  Dr. Chris Heckaman officiating. Friends may call on the family on 2 hours prior to the Church service.
