Kevin Patrick Phelps

Kevin Patrick Phelps, age 33, of Dayton, formerly of Troy, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.  Kevin was born on December 19, 1988, in Piqua, to Cathleen (McLaughlin) Phelps of Troy and the late Thomas Edward Phelps.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandmother: Claire Cronin McLaughlin.  In addition to his mother, Kevin is survived by two siblings: Michael (Jennifer) Phelps of Lexington, KY and Courtney (Tyler) Wright of Troy; uncle: Stephen (Deborah) McLaughlin of Lexington, KY and nieces and nephews: Addison, Thomas, Lucy, Björn and Gavin. 

Kevin graduated with honors from Troy High School in 2007.  He earned twelve varsity letters during his high school career in soccer, swimming, track and football.  Kevin continued to participate in adult soccer leagues and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football, US Men’s National Soccer, Columbus Crew and the Green Bay Packers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Fr. Eric Bowman as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
