Kenneth E. Davis Obituary

Kenneth E. Davis, age 84, of Tipp City; formerly of Troy, OH passed away at his residence on April 10, 2024.  He was born on July 24, 1939 in Dayton to the late Robert L. and Lillian M. (Wilson) Davis.

Ken is survived by his wife of 33 years: Carol (McCurdy) Sherman Davis; two sons: K. Alan (Kim) Davis of Columbus and Craig L. (Rebecca) Davis of Kettering; son-in-law: Randall Weyant of Troy; stepsons: Greg (Sherry) Sherman of Troy, Mark (Lisa) Sherman of Middletown and Rob (Lori) Sherman of Lebanon; nine grandchildren: Justin (Chelsea) Weyant, Megan (Casey) Herbst, Jordyn (Dominic) DelMonte, Mackenzie (Fiance’ Josh Wolfe) Davis, Olivia Davis, Hayden Davis, Jack Davis, Lucy (Fiance’ Noah Seipel) Davis and Hank Davis; four step grandchildren: Shyra (Mike) Smith, Greg (Lenore) Sherman Jr., Mack Sherman and Reece Sherman; four great grandchildren: Savannah and Hunter Sherman, Shyenne and Makenna Smith and one soon to arrive: Xavier DelMonte; brothers: Lonnie (Naomi) Davis of Troy and Carl (Joyce) Davis of Athens, GA and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Janice (Marshall) Davis and daughter: Sharon Davis Weyant.

He was a graduate of Xenia High School and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force Reserves.

Ken and his first wife, Janice, were longtime owners and operators of Lancer Meats in Troy.  He was formerly employed with Hobart Corporation and Dinner Bell and retired from Skyline Chili.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and enjoyed volunteering with church activities and the First Place Food Pantry.  He also enjoyed working outside and spending time with family.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00AM on May 4, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Troy.  Private interment will be held at a later date. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Ken’s memory to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be expressed to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
