Joy D. Weber Obituary

Joy D. Weber of Springfield has joined her father, James, and brother, Jim, by being welcomed home by the Lord Jesus on the 25th of March, 2024.

Joy was born on January 23, 1965 in Jacksonville, Illinois to Vivian Joyce (Stone) Ward and James Delmar Ward Jr.  Joy is survived by her loving husband Marc, her mother Joyce, sisters Carla (Jason) and Roni, her daughter Summer, and her sons Cory, Hunter, and Blake (Danielle).  She is also survived by one of her greatest treasures, her grandchildren, Maxwell, Roselyn, Piper, Peyton, Jaxson, Abigail, and Elijah.

Joy will be remembered as a loving, joyous, selfless, and nearly tireless wife, daughter, mother, mamaw, and friend.  She was always willing to listen and walk alongside those who needed her and had the unique gift of being able to share her thoughts, both critical and consoling, in a way that never tarnished the awareness that she cared and wanted the best for you.

These gifts were used for the glory of Christ in her whole-hearted service in the prison ministry at Living Word and her advocacy for second chances and justice reform.  This came as an overflow of her love for the Lord Jesus and she was always thankful to Him to be able to share the hope that she herself was given in Christ.

For those who've spent any time with Joy, her pride and love for her grandchildren could not be missed.  She was always ready to have them over or come over to see them and just as ready to play with them with every ounce of energy she had.  She was every one of her grandchildren's biggest fans and it was never long before she was sharing the achievements of them with anyone she could.

Joy's life stands as a testament to truth of the power of God to bring new life and with it love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Her family and friends are all so thankful to God for their time with her and the blessing of being able to witness His work in her.

The memorial for Joy will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 with the viewing from 2pm to 4pm and the service following at Baird Funeral Home, Troy OH.  Everyone who knew Joy well can probably see her smile and hear her contagious laugh as they imagine her response to her memorial falling on April Fool's Day.

The family has started a GoFundMe for anyone who would like to give to help with the medical and funeral expenses.
