Janet Wright

Janet Wright, age 77, of Troy, OH passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.  She was born at Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy, OH on December 16, 1944 to the late George Stanley and Dorothy Maxine (Hixson) Wright.

Janet is survived by her sister, Myrle Briggs of Troy; nephews: Jeff (Betsy) Briggs and Brian (Karen) Briggs; niece: Julie (Todd) Johnson; one grandnephew and three grandnieces.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her brother, Paul Stanley Wright; brother-in-law, Bruce Briggs; aunt, Stella M. Wright and grandparents.

Janet was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and the Susannah Wesley Circle.  She was formerly a classroom music teacher, children’s choir director and adult choir director with the First United Church of Christ in Troy.  She was a member of the Concord Grange and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #256 and former member of Miami County 4-H and Rainbow Girls chapter in Troy.

Janet was a 1962 graduate of Troy High School.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Ball State University in 1967 and an Associates degree in nursing from Edison State Community College in 1983.

She was employed as a registered nurse and served in hospital and long term care and also was a tester and observer for STNA.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on September 17, 2022 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-3:00PM at the funeral home.  A private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
