Jane A. McDaniel

Jane A. McDaniel, age 72, of Troy, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Kettering Medical Center.  She was born on March 3, 1949 in Troy to the late Floyd L. and Ruth Miriam (Pearson) Spears. 

Jane is survived by her children: Jim (Cindy) McDaniel, Xenia OH, Chris (Amanda) Shoup, Casstown OH and Angie (Dustin) Copas, Troy OH; brother and sister: Mary Sue (Carl) Shoup of Casstown, and Jerry Spears of Troy; sister-in-law: Nancy Spears; brother-in-law: Thomas Kirk;  ten grandchildren: Ashley (Christopher) McDaniel, Aundrea (Zeb) McDaniel, James McDaniel II, Jemisan Inlow, Jeylan Inlow, Kasey Copas, Chaz (Samantha) Copas and Brock Copas, Hailey Baker and Erin Baker; and one great grandchild: Kayden McDaniel. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband: Dennis Elwood McDaniel; and brother: Howard (Mackey) Spears and one sister: Betty Lou Kirk.

Jane graduated from Troy High School in 1967 and had a long career in medical administration and billing.  Jane married Dennis, the love of her life and best friend, in 1994.

Jane loved making crafts and baking for her family and friends. She enjoyed years of camping with Dennis, where you could find her reading one of her many books and making strangers into lifelong friends, like those from her beloved Indian Trails Campground family.  Jane’s true joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
