James F. Rike, age 79, of Troy, Ohio passed away on October 14, 2020 at SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City, Ohio. He was born on August 14, 1941 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Franklin B. and Lucille (Cruse) Rike.
Jim is survived by his wife of 20 years: Mary Kay (Cochran) Rike; children: Derek Rike and Ryan (Deanna) Rike both of Troy; Chris (Jennifer) Karnehm of Troy; Katie (Dan) Hamlin of Troy; Elizabeth (Jason) Schmitt of Franklin and Lindsey (Kris) Williams of Troy and twelve grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Douglas Rike.
Jim was a 1960 graduate of Piqua High School. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was retired from sales with Ohio Metal and Alro Steel. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge and Optimist Club. He loved building WWII model airplanes and was an active blood donor. He was a kind and loving man, a friend to everyone and always quick with a joke.
Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, Ohio with Fr. Eric Bowman officiating. Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
