Gerald B. Hackett

Gerald B. Hackett, age 82, of Troy, OH passed away on October 9, 2021 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy.  He was born on August 27, 1939 in Casstown, OH to the late Norris and Ellen (Evans) Hackett.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years of marriage: Phyllis (Walker) and daughters: Beth Hackett and Amy Dillow all of Troy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son and brother.

Gerald was a graduate of Miami East Central High School.  He was a 71- year member of the Troy Baptist Temple.  He was a longtime former member of the Troy Horseshoe Pitching Club.  Gerald retired from Sam’s Club in Vandalia after working as a lifetime butcher.  Gerald never met a stranger and had a love for people.       

Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Troy Baptist Temple with Rev. David Thomasson officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00AM – 1:00PM on Wednesday at the church.
