Ethyl M. Osweiler

Ethyl M. Osweiler, age 86, of Troy, OH passed away on January 17, 2023 at Brookdale of Troy.  She was born on August 28, 1936 in Tipp City, OH to the late Alvin and Inez (Upton) Biser.

She is survived by her daughters: Amy Thompson of Batavia, OH; Beth (David Lauder) Osweiler of Bakersfield, CA; stepchildren: Kathy (James) Friedman of Westerville, OH and Scott (Beth) Osweiler of Rose City, MI; siblings: Wilda “Toots” (Melvin) Funderburg of New Carlisle, OH; Doris Deeter of Casstown, OH and Norman “Nub” (Marilyn) Biser of Maineville, OH; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Patricia Biser of Eaton, OH; Joyce Biser of Tipp City, OH; Carol Biser of Tipp City, OH and Don Honeyman of Troy, OH; step grandchildren: Alicia Friedman of Westerville, OH and Jacob Osweiler of Fairborn, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Osweiler; siblings: Maurice Gene Biser, Willard Biser, Ralph Biser, Denzel Biser, Wayne Biser and Linda Honeyman; and son-in-law: Paul Thompson.

Ethyl was a 1954 graduate of Tipp City High School.  She was previously employed at Spring Hill Nurseries and Hobart Corporation.  She enjoyed bowling, traveling and tending to her black raspberries.  Ethyl will be remembered for her radiating smile. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Brookdale staff, nurses at UVMC and the Hospice staff for their love and care during Ethyl’s stay.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with the Chaplain Amy Bennett officiating.  Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
